Jochen Kaempf

Associate Professor Jochen Kaempf

Associate Professor Jochen Kaempf is a versatile physical oceanographer working at Flinders University. His main research focus are physical processes that are fundamentally involved with nutrient fluxes in the seas. Research highlights include the discovery of upwelling centres on Australia’s southern shelves, and descriptions of the water circulation in the Persian Gulf and South Australian inverse estuaries. Kaempf wrote two textbooks on hydrodynamic modelling and one autograph (with Piers Chapman) on upwelling systems of the world.
