Jessica Buss

Jessica Buss is a Flinders University PhD candidate working on Bonamia sp. infection in Australia’s Native Oyster (Ostrea angasi) in South Australia.

Prior to interest in aquatic diseases, Jessica accomplished first class honours in abalone health and nutrition in 2015, receiving a university medal after completing a double bachelor degree in marine biology and aquaculture. Through her work, she has gained immense interest in surveillance, monitoring and the epidemiology of aquatic diseases. Outside the realm of disease, Jessica adores baking, having created her own sourdough bread culture named ‘Hugo’ and for fitness enjoys aerial silks and samba dancing.
